PE Builder v3 plugin
Registry Editor PE is Open Source Software written by Jeremy Mlazovsky.
Registry Editor PE allows to easily edit registry hives and user profiles for any NT-based operating system which is not currently running. It is used the follwoig way:
- Boot an operating system from CD.
- Load "Registry Editor PE v0.9c"
- You will be asked to select the directory which corresponds to the remote installation of Windows you wish to access. Press "OK" when you have done this.
- Select the remote hives (SAM, SECURITY, SOFTWARE, SYSTEM ) wished to be accessed. Registry Editor PE will attempt to guess the filenames based on the Windows directory specified. Press "Open" to select each appropriated file.
- You will be asked if you want to specify a remote user profile for editing. Press the appropriate button.
- If you choose "Yes", you will see the following window. This is a reminder about where the user profiles (ntuser.dat) are generally found. You will then be asked to select the ntuser.dat file you wish to access. Once you have selected the appropriate file, press "Open"
- Registry Editor PE will begin loading the registry hives and any selected user profiles. A reminder is displayed indicating which registry hives to edit in regedit.exe. Press "OK" once you have read this.
- When you are finished editing your registry, close regedit.exe . Registry Editor PE will then begin the clean-up process, which involves unloading the registry hives and user profiles and writing them back to disk.
Setps to include Registry Editor PE portable to use with BartPE:

Download the CAB-file version 0.9c and extract the file "RegistryEditorPE.exe" to "plugin\RegEditPE" directory.
Important: the Registry Editor PE only works with XP and SP2!
